I'm pleased to introduce you to my son's new favorite pair of shoes, his Bobux i-Walk Classic Desert Explorer Boots!!
US Japan Fam reviews Bobux i-Walk Classic Desert Explorer Boys Boots
And by favorite pair, I mean he MUST wear them EVERY day, without fail, or watch out! HA! Kids huh?? But it's OK, because I agree, they're pretty awesome, and here's why!
  • high quality leather upper and liner
  • adjustable wide strap insures they fit perfectly
  • flexible, durable, and grippy rubber sole
  • padded ankle, tongue area, and insole
  • totally stylish - worthy of anything from family photo shoot to park play date

I mean, they're so darn beautiful I don't want him to wear them and start scuffing them up, but you can't just lock them in the closet til he's outgrown them. What would be the point in that? So, I threw caution to the wind and am letting him wear the heck out of these, and they're proving to be extremely durable!! YAY!
I recently did a review of another pair of Bobux shoes, for my twin girls, which we also love. And these here boots have sealed the deal - we're official members of the Bobux Fan Club!! In case you aren't familiar with Bobux already, they carry stylish, comfortable, and functional footwear for newborns through 5 years old. Bobux makes great shoes for all stages: soft soles for babies, lightweight and flexible shoes for pre- and early-walkers ("xplorers" and "step up"), and durable grippy "i-walk" shoes for confident walkers! They also have a great  great rewards program.

You can find these boots on Bobux's website in sizes 20 - 24 (US size 4.5-7.5) for $58.99 and sizes 25 - 29 (US sizess 8 - 11.5) for $63.99

Teach a Positive Message with "Positively Different"

Reading to your children is beneficial on so many levels - it's a special way to spend time together, it's a great way to encourage their interest in learning to read, and it's an awesome opportunity for you to help them develop their early reading skills! And when you find the right book, there can be even more educational and developmental benefits. You can utilize books to help teach your children about history, culture, and moral social skills.
I was recently sent a copy of the newest Rosie the Hippo book, Positively Different, and was really blown away. I'm so used to reading my young children short little board books with cute but superficial meaningless stories. But this one was different, Positively Different to be exact! Ha, see what I did there!?
Picture
Rosie and Friends Positively Different, written by Helen C. Hipp, features beautiful illustrations (by Taryn Cozzy) that will intrigue young children, with an interesting story and beautiful message that will have a deep impact on readers, young and old!

In this book, we meet our heroin, Rosie, a pink hippo who exudes confidence and celebrates being different on the inside and out. We are introduced to many of Rosie's animal friends, who are all unique in their own ways. But the ostrich is very shy and doesn't like being noticed, asking "But when you are noticed and seen as different, how do you get others to see you the way you see yourself?" Through the help of a slightly narcissistic zebra, she realizes how others see you depends mostly on how you see yourself. And just like that, she chooses to see herself differently, uniquely different from any other bird. Exotic even! Shy no more!
The message in Positively Different is clear and wonderful: be yourself and be proud of who you are. Celebrate yourself and what makes you unique. What kind of boring world would it be if everyone was the same?! It's a great book not just for children who are self-conscious about something, but for all children to be build self-confidence and more understanding and acceptance of others.

You can purchase a paperback copy of Positively Different for $11.99 on Amazon (affiliate link), as well as Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Audible. You can also WIN ONE in my $350 value 8-product Unique Gift Guide & Giveaway running through December 12!!!

ChubChub PouchBuddy, Your Spill Solution

12/2/2016

Whether we're talking baby food or toddler snacks, I love food pouches. At home or on the go, nothing is easier!! But, if you're not using one with a good anti-spill device (such as my fave, Squeasy Gear), they can make quite a mess when your little one gives them a squeeze accidentally (or on purpose, those stinkers!!!).
One mom saw the need and came up with a simple yet effective solution. Behond, the ChubChub PouchBuddy!!

These little handle bars are universal, meaning they'll screw onto just about any pouch on the market.

The PouchBuddy makes pouch feeding easier and less messy two ways:
  1. They give the pouch handles, which are easier for small babies to hold, and which help prevent accidental squeezing of the pouches.
  2. They give a better shaped spout to the pouch, making drinking from the pouch easier and safer. It also prevents those little fingers from poking into the pouch's mouth spout, which my kids always love to do, adding to the potential for mess.
PouchBuddy is free of BPA, PVC, and Phthalates, is top rack dishwasher safe, and is good for babies from the age of 4 months. Each PouchBuddy comes with its own cleaning brush, as well!

My girls are already 13 months and are quite the pros at self-feeding with pouches. They don't have accidents too much anymore, but we were still excited to try out the ChubChub PouchBuddy.
They're quick and easy to screw on, but do add a few seconds to the process of getting that pouch to your screaming child, which can feel like an eternity, am I right? LOL!! They're light and compact, so they're easy to keep in the diaper bag, and I was surprised that after we were done using them they weren't messy, so I just threw them right back in the bag, didn't even need a little plastic baggy before I could rinse them out.
My girls were used to holding the pouch, but took to the handles quickly. One baby instinctively held it by the handles when I gave it to her. For the other baby, I had to manually move her hands from pouch to handles a couple of times before she caught on and did it herself. After finished drinking the pouches, they both enjoyed chewing on the handles for a long time - score, pouch handles and teether in one! Ha!

I found the PouchBuddy to be well made - no sharp edges or corners, and they don't seem like they will break or wear out quickly (though if my girls keep chewing on them... we'll see...).
So, in a nutshell, if you have a young baby just starting to venture into the world of pouches, or an older baby who gets quite messy with the pouch, I highly recommend trying out ChubChub PouchBuddy. They retail for $10.99 (currently on sale for $7.99 on ChubChub's website and Amazon (affiliate link), and come in orange, turquoise, and yellow.

Also, you can win a 2-pack of PouchBuddies in my $350 value 8-product jackpot Unique Gift Guide & Giveaway running now through December 12!!!!
