US Japan Fam's 2019 Toddler Fall Faves Giveaway featuring Wubba Water healthier electrolyte replacement drinks
Wubba Water Variety 6-Pack
Fall is here and with it, all the germs! Before you stock up on electrolyte replacement drinks for the family, let me ask - did you know electrolyte replacement drinks tend to be full of artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners? Big Bang Beverages wasn't too thrilled with that, so they created an organic and healthier alternative to Pedialyte: Wubba Water, a children's hydration drink free of synthetic dyes, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, and GMO's! Colored only with fruit and vegetable extracts and having only 1 gram of organic sugar per serving, Wubba Water is a healthier way for your little one to replenish water and electrolytes when sick or playing sports (and they'll get a Vitamin C boost to boot)! You can find Wubba Water at Whole Foods (in NYC, CT & NJ) and local health food stores (Maine - NJ), and online at Walmart.com and Amazon (affiliate link). Our winner will receive 2 bottles of each flavor - blue raspberry, fruit punch, and orange, a $15 value.

US Japan Fam's 2019 Toddler Fall Faves Giveaway - Tagalong Stroller Handle
The Tag*a*long Stroller Handle
If you have a child who wants the freedom of walking, but maybe isn't the best about holding onto the stroller, The Tag*a*long is for you! It's something fun and easy for them to hold, that extends just far enough from the frame to keep their feet out of the stroller wheel danger zone! We had 3 attached to our stroller for the past 2 years and found them extremely helpful (see us in action in this IG post)!! What's more, they're cheap, easy to detach and move to another stroller, BPA / PVC / Phthalate-free, and can also add a little pop of color to your ride! Our winner will receive one in the color of their choice - green, blue, black or pink! You can also buy them for $12.99 on Amazon (affiliate link).

US Japan Fam's 2019 Toddler Fall Faves Giveaway featuring swag from Dreamworks' Abominable
DreamWorks' Abominable Swag
Have you heard of the newest animation from DreamWorks and Pearl Studio? Hitting theaters nationwide on September 27, Abominable is an exciting and heartwarming tale that will be your child's (and your) new favorite movie! Taking audiences on an epic 2,000-mile adventure from the streets of Shanghai to the breathtaking Himalayan snowscapes, Abominable is the first US animated film to feature a modern Chinese family. We were treated to an early screening a few weeks ago (watch our fun-filled day and non-spoiler review below) and honestly can't wait to go see it again once out in the theaters!! You'll laugh, you'll tear up, you'll be on the edge of your seats. It's a fun feel-good movie you just can't miss!! Our winner will receive the adorable Abominable lunch box and backpack pictured above. Watch the trailer and get tickets here!

ENTER TO WIN $200 IN PRIZES!!
Open to US residents ages 18 and over, the giveaway will run til Tuesday, October 2 at 11:59 PM EST. A winner will be chosen randomly and emailed, given 48 hours to claim their winnings. Only a comment is needed to enter (but be sure to let the app know you commented). Each additional action taken in the app will earn you extra chances to win, and some actions can be taken daily! So, be sure to bookmark this page and keep coming back! Good luck everyone and stay tuned as we'll be launching a new group giveaway every couple of weeks through the rest of 2019!!

Mean Girls on Broadway for Your Next Moms' Night Out

9/13/2019

After dedicating time to my kids, my work, and my husband, let's face it, there just never seems to be any time left over for myself, or my mom friends. But that's silly. Of course there's enough time. You just have to get your priorities straight and MAKE the time! So, this week, I had myself a mom date and we had THE. BEST. TIME!!! And in true mom blogger fashion, I'm here to share it with you so you can be inspired and have an easy copycat mom date of your own!!

Some of you out there may already be obsessed with the Tina Fey written "Mean Girls", watching the movie regularly since it was released way back in 2004. I myself had only seen it once and didn't remember anything about the movie other than it starred the infamous Lindsay Lohan (who apparently now runs a few night clubs in Greece and recently starred in her own MTV reality show!?). My point is, whether you know the story or not, you will absolutely LOVE Mean Girls on Broadway. Why? It's got everything!!
  • MUSIC - is amazing, super catchy tunes, with crazy talented singers
  • STORY & MESSAGE - is really inspiring, basically anti-bullying, showcasing the importance of being true to yourself and supporting others, or at least not putting others down. Not sure if these are direct quotes or not but they're some that really stuck with me from the show: Telling someone they're dumb won't make you smarter. Telling someone they're ugly won't make you prettier. Even the people you don't like are still people, so, GET OFF THEIR DICKS! LOL!! Seriously though, it has such an amazing message, but told in such a fun and hilarious way, it's awesome!
  • DANCING - is fun, lots of group dances of course, it's broadway, and my favorite was Grey Henson, who plays Damian, he's just SO over the top and absolutely pee-your-pants hilarious, his dialogue and his tap dancing, all of it! So fun!

Now, I suggest this most highly for a super fun night out with your girlfriends and mom friends. That said, many boyfriends and husbands would also enjoy it, if they're into Broadway musicals. I wouldn't recommend it for kids, because of the dialogue and innuendos (teenage drinking, sex, intense bullying), but older teens would love it, and again, it has just such a great message about accepting yourself and others, and the special need for girls to support each other.
Heather of US Japan Fam & Rhianon of Brooklyn Boy Mom having a Moms Night Out at Mean Girls on Broadway
So, I took one of my best mom friends, Rhianon of Brooklyn Boy Mom & Known, out to Mean Girls on Broadway for a special Bloggers' Night they organized! We started across the street from the theater for fun drinks and yummy food at Haswell Greens (240 W. 42nd St) and got a little silly with their photo props (above)! Then we headed over to the August Wilson Theater (245 W. 52nd St), which has been decorated to get you into the Mean Girls / High School mood from the start! So many fun photo ops, even in the bathroom LOL (see below)!!
Fun in the bathroom at Mean Girls on Broadway
There's themed food and drinks for purchase at the theater, and of course TONS OF MERCH!!

LED-Wheeled Foldable ChromeWheels Scooters from ShopHot

9/9/2019

I don't know about where you're from, but here in NYC, kids learn to ride scooters pretty soon after learning to walk! Maybe it's because we don't drive much, or don't have space to store multiple bikes, but scooters have become a huge part of my family's life, which is why we're so happy to collaborate with ShopHot.com on this review of 2 of the ChromeWheels Scooters sold on their website (discount code at bottom of this post)!!

Disclaimer: We were provided product in exchange for this review but all thoughts and opinions are our own and completely unbiased. In addition, there are some affiliate links included in this post, you don't pay more but we will receive a small commission on purchases made after clicking links.

Before I go into my full review below, be sure to watch my video unboxing, setting up the scooters, and trying them out, including footage of my very first time riding a scooter! HA! (The kids' adorable helmets are Mini Hornit LIDS, check out our review here if you missed it!)
2-Wheel Deluxe 8" Wheel ChromeWheels Scooter
Our 6.5 year old had outgrown his non-adjustable 3-wheel scooter and was nervous but excited to graduate to a 2-wheeler. Since he hasn't learned to ride a bike yet, balance-wise it definitely took some getting used to, but there's no stopping him now! He feels (and looks) like such a big boy! If you have a child ready for a 2-wheeler, this is a great one, check out some of these features:
  • 200 pound weight limit (ages 6+) - meaning my husband and I can both use it, very cool!
  • large anti-slip deck - it's very grippy, and so wide that I can stand on it with my feet next to each other and not hanging off (see image below)!
  • adjustable handlebar - there are 5 height settings ranging from 34.6 to 41.3 inches, and it's a quick and easy push-of-the-button adjustment.
  • light but heavy-duty - it weighs just 8.8 pounds but is very sturdy (the frame is 80% aluminum and 20% steel)
  • kickstand & rear-wheel brake - I hadn't thought about this being a necessity since we were used to 3-wheel scooters that stand on their own, but the kickstand is really helpful on a 2-wheeler!
  • easy fold - you just pull a little lever and the T bar folds down, super easy. You can also push a button on each handle to pull them out and fold over, so it can get quite compact!
  • design - offered in blue, black, and pink, with light up LED wheels that get brighter the faster you go!
Retails for $69 on shophot.com or Amazon (affiliate link).

Deluxe Foldable 3-Wheel ChromeWheels Scooter
What's great about this scooter is that it's super easy for young children to learn to ride. It's technically for ages 3-12 but my girls learned to ride a 3-wheel scooter when they were about 18 months! So, this would make a really great 2nd, 3rd, or 4th birthday present!! Because it has 2 wheels spread out in front, it balances on its own. The handlebar is fixed so it's much easier for them to keep their balance while learning to scoot, and little by little they'll learn the lean-to-steer function. My personal advice for teaching a young child how to do this is have them stand on the scooter, you stand behind the scooter and lean over them and gently hold their hands on the handle bar. As you push them, you can lean them each direction so they can feel how it works. Once comfortable they can start to scoot and steer on their own. There's a great double wheel brake in back, but younger children may use their feet as brakes instead (sorry, if doing this they'll go through shoes pretty quickly!). Anyway, this is a fabulous scooter and you can't ask for a better bang for your buck simply because it's good for such a wide age range!! We just got ours a week ago though, so I can't personally attest to how long they'll last. I'm hoping many years!! Here are some of the features of this one:
  • 150 pound max (ages 3-12)
  • adjustable handlebar - quick push of the button with 4 height levels (25 to 34.5 inches)
  • lightweight & foldable - just 6 pounds and quick to fold by pulling up on the bottom of the T-bar
  • design - available in black, blue, pink, purple, and red, with clear urethane LED light-up wheels
Retails for $45 on ShopHot.com and Amazon (affiliate link).
US Japan Fam reviews ShopHot ChromeWheels 3-wheel scooter
What we're LOVING about these scooters?
  1. The price tag!! At about $45 for the 3-wheeler and $70 for the 2-wheeler, it won't break the bank and it also won't break your heart if junior ends up losing it!
  2. They fold!! How great is that!? Makes for easier and more compact storage, throwing them in the trunk of your car or into our Wonderfold Wagon (check out that review here!!). You can also fully detach the T-bar if needing to store it somewhere even more compactly.
  3. They light up!! Our kids have never had light-up shoes, so this is really our first time having something that lights up and frankly, we're in love! The LED lights on the wheels aren't noticible outside in bright daylight much, but at dusk or at night, or even indoors like in our building's hallways - they're so much fun!! Not to mention a bit of an added safety measure against traffic and what not.

So, what do you think!? If you're shopping for a birthday present, back to school gift, exam reward, Christmas gift, etc - you can't go wrong with a ChromeWheels Scooter from ShopHot.com AND our readers can get $66 off orders over $300 with code UJFSH66 here (valid through 9/18/19)!
