This was my fourth time attending the New York Baby Show, which carries a lot of sentiment for me - 2013 was my first visit and was the show that started my wonderful relationship with the app and digital parenting magazine, Mommy Nearest! Every year you see a lot of similar faces and brands with oldie but goodie products as well as newly launched ones, in addition to a ton of brand new up and coming businesses, ones just launching in the US from abroad, and the underdog small mom and pop shops. This year we started at the Momtrends Blogger Lounge (where we dropped my son off at The Nanny League's play center), fueled up (lunch for us and milk for my girls), and then took off to the expo floor! Here are some of the products that really stood out as the latest and greatest this year - I think you'll agree! Prepare for your mind to be blown!! GB Pockit Compact Stroller (#1 Pick) If you read my highlights post from last year's NY Baby Show you might remember I featured GB's Qbit stroller, which was the first stroller I'd seen to fold down super small (13” by 21” and under 15 pounds). Since then, a few strollers have come into the game, but GB is once again at the front of the race with their latest, the Pockit. It has the smallest fold on the market (actually holding the 2014 Guinness World Record for most compact stroller), weighing 9.5 pounds and folding quickly down to 11.8" x 7" x 13.8" to be exact. It's small but strong, holding a child up to 55 pounds with a basket holding up to 11 pounds. It doesn't recline and has a minimalist canopy, but this thing is bad assssss! Cheeky Chompers (#2 Pick) I am a big fan of bandana bibs, and the fact that these also have a silicone teether on the bottom. Ummm... YES!! LOVE IT!!! I am all about teethers than can't be dropped or thrown from a stroller, especially when they're as cute as these! Nourish Nursing and Beyond (#3 Pick) I have over 2.5 years (and counting) of breastfeeding under my belt and am a bit jaded with my closet. To be breastfeeding-friendly, dresses have to be v-neck or wrap style, which usually exposes more cleavage than I'm comfortable with. Nursing tanks generally have a smaller shelf than will fit my twin-feeding milk monsters, so again, major cleavage. MAJOR. Also, they tend to be maternity / nursing tops so they are baggy and ill fitting once you are no longer pregnant. So, when I came across Nourish, it was like HALLELUJAH. They have nursing-friendly tops and dresses that don't look like nursing wear. They have discreet panels which pull aside or unbutton to allow for breastfeeding, but seriously, no one would suspect it was a nursing top! So, you could wear these items well beyond weaning. Seriously fashionable, and practical. LOVE!! First of all, look at those amazingly adorable bento style stainless steal plates. They even have lids so they can be packed for school lunch (something on my mind currently since my toddler will be off to Pre-K in the fall!!). I'm also loving their various sizes of storage containers - freezer trays with half ounce or 3 ounce cubes, stackable and twistable containers, not to mention their cute baby teethers! Innobaby has tons of good stuff, you can see more on their website! We don't have a car, but if we did, this might be on my shopping list. Basically it's a system that hooks up to your car seat and connects to your phone. It tells you things like the temperature in the back seat (the dad behind the app showed me an example of the outside temperature being 85 degrees but the inside temperature reading 115 degrees before the AC kicked in - WOW!!). It will send you an alert if your little stinker unbuckles himself. And if your little one is still in the car after x-amount of time passes without the car moving, you'll receive an alert. If you don't respond within x-amount of time, it'll automatically notify your list of emergency contacts. We've all tried a million and one of same-same-but-different snack cups. All "spill-proof" but really, our toddlers somehow still manage to spill... But the Munchie Mug has a very unique top that really sets it apart. It's actually made of food grade polypropylene/spandex blend fabric, and you can see from my photos above it is completely closed when your fingers aren't reaching through. It's all dishwasher safe, to boot! Pretty cool!! Not that I have the time for baby books, but I love the idea of making them for each of our kids. So Savor really caught my idea - not only are their keepsake boxes and storage systems beautiful and a great way to stay organized, they can handle actual 3D objects. Their Baby Edition Keepsake Box has 9 drawers to hold things like baby teeth, lock of hair, baby shoes, etc. It also holds 8 vertical files, personalizing initials, and a birthday survey to document yearly highlights. We want what's best for our babies, and baby food is no different, whether we make our own or buy jars and pouches. But is it possible we are being misled by the big brands out there? It is suggested that the way most food (baby and adult) is processed through heat, a good amount of the original nutrition is lost, and then added back in with with things that may or may not be absorbed as well by our bodies. A relatively new process out there called HPP processes food by pressure instead of heat, thus maintaining the original nutrition. Once Upon A Farm is a new baby food company using this HPP technology. You can find them in the refrigerated section, because they do not contain the preservatives that allow other baby foods to be shelf stable for months or years. They also have really gourmet blends, packed with nutrition and helping your baby to develop their palate. There are a few reasons these toys made my list. 1, it's a huge Japanese company just launching here in the States. In fact, it's the same company behind the uber popular Magna-tiles (LOVE them!!) 2, their Mochi by People line of baby toys (pictured on left) are made of rice, how cool! 3, their "Brain Builder" toys (pictured on right) feature different toys specifically designed for each month of a baby's development. From textures and sounds to twists and whistles, they'll keep your baby interested and learning. 4, They make some really cool magnetic blocks which are perfect for babies and toddlers alike. Looking for a sleep sack, swaddle, or wearable blanket to help your baby sleep better? You've come to the right place! The following are products I have either personally tried with my own babies or have seen recommended time and time again by members of my online mommy groups. You probably don't have the budget to buy and try all of them, but read through and perhaps one will jump out at you as sounding like the best option for your little one! The Halo SleepSack Swaddle is probably the most well-known swaddle out there. It's very very simple and easy to use, and you can swaddle baby with arms in or out. You can swaddle them super tight or just barely, whatever they like! Personally, I love this swaddle and have used it for all 3 of my children. The fleece one is nice and warm and I have a secret special use for it - in the winter I used it in the stroller because they couldn't keep on mittens and I didn't want their hands to freeze! When in the stroller's bassinet you can use it as a regular swaddle with hands in. When in the stroller seat, I put their arms through the vest but kept it unzipped with legs out (in the BundleMe), put their arms through the stroller straps, and then wrapped the swaddle around them to keep their hands in. Definitely a big no-no in the carseat, and I'm not a professional so I'm not sure if this is safe in the stroller or not, but it worked for us! They retail for about $20 and you can them find on Amazon and in just about every baby store out there. Bitta Kidda's sleeper and sleep sack provide built in "lovies" which a child can learn to use to sooth themselves. The awesome part is that it's safe because it's attached to their pajamas, as opposed to a loose lovie which can present a risk of suffocation (which is why there should be absolutely NO loose items in the crib with your baby - no stuffed animals, blankets, lovie, etc!). Another awesome feature is the crotch strap that keeps the sleep sack from getting twisted when they toss and turn - I haven't seen this feature in any other sleep sack and it's pretty awesome! They're also thin material so they can be worn with a thick pajama in winter or a onesie in summer. My girls have been wearing the Bitta Kidda sleep sacks, though they're are a bit young to use the lovies for comfort just yet. You can read my personal review here. The Bitta Kidda sleeper goes for about $25 and the sleep sack for about $34 on Amazon or BK's website. Nested Bean makes a swaddle and sleep sack that has a little weighted area on the chest, which is supposed to simulate the comforting feeling of a parents hand resting gently on them. The sleep sack can be warn backwards, for a child who sleeps on the belly and needs the weight on their back instead. The swaddle retails for about $30 and the sack for $35 on Amazon of NB's website. I've never tried or even seen Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit in person, but going by the way it gets recommended time and time again in my mommy groups, it must be pretty amazing. It's very thick (eliminating need for a blanket) and is supposed to "muffle baby's startle reflex". I've also heard it will delay the child rolling over (to tummy) since they're not quite as mobile in it, so many moms will graduate their baby to this when their baby learns to roll since a traditional swaddle isn't be safe at that point. This one goes for about $40 on Amazon. Other awesome sleepy-time stuff: Lullaby Breeze Breathable / Washable / Waterproof Crib Mattress Cover - when baby starts rolling to tummy, it's terrifying!! But this mattress cover is breathable, giving you peace of mind to let baby go ahead and stay on their tummy if that's what they like. Check out my review here. QuickZip Sheets - just zip the top part on and off to wash, no need to take the whole mattress out of the crib! They make sheets for all sizes up to California King, and also make pillow cases and waterproof crib mattress covers. Check out my review here. Have you tried any of these sleep sacks? Or love another? Share in a comment below!!

My son put us through the ringer with sleep. He did great from 2-5 months and then it went downhill fast. He wouldn't take a pacifier. He threw his lovie out of the crib in anger. Nothing helped him fall asleep except the boob. Apparently my child is not alone. A couple of exhausted yet genius parents came up with a brilliant idea - the wearable lovie - and BittaKidda was born! Basically, a lovie can be an amazing sleep aid that children learn to use to sooth and calm themselves. But a lose blanket or stuffed animal can make its way across the crib becoming out of reach for the baby, can pose an increased risk for suffocation or SIDS, or can be tossed in anger out of the crib. So, BittaKidda provides lovies that are built into their sleeper or sleepsack! They also have clip ons for daytime wear. So awesome!! We recently got the BittaSacks for our 3 month old twins. They just learned to flip to their bellies so we had to stop swaddling them - making it the perfect time to introduce them to their new sleepsacks! They're a bit young to really get the idea of the lovie, but when I put them down for a nap or for the night, I bring their hands to the little lovie swatches and they hold on to them for a few seconds. I think you just have to keep at it and they'll catch on eventually. The BittaSack is a really unique product, and here are some features I'm especially loving:
You can purchase BittaKidda products on their website but... you can WIN a BittaSack (as well as over $300 in sleep gear) in my Get Your Sleep On Giveaway running from February 15 - 25!! Enter to win here!!
Disclaimer: Although I did receive this product free of charge, all thoughts and opinions are my own and completely unbiased. Just because you're pregnant or breastfeeding doesn't mean you can't look and feel beautiful... stunning... and simply fahhhbulous!! But you'll need the right clothes. I recently wrote about maternity wear rental with Bella Gravida, but how about your sleepwear and underwear? Sure sure, you can just wear your hubby's oversized tee to bed. But wouldn't you rather wear something super cute, comfy, practical, and *gasp* sexy!?? If you answered YES, then I'd like to introduce you to You! Lingerie! All of their bras, sleep and lounge wear are pregnancy and nursing friendly - that means they're comfortable, supportive, and convenient (with easy access for breastfeeding). On top of that, they're seriously stylish. I don't know about you, but it can be hard not to feel frumpy during pregnancy and the postpartum period, but You! Lingerie is here to help unfrump your bump! I recently got the Ashe Maternity & Nursing Tank and Rosette Super Mom Super Tired Maternity & Nursing Pajama Set and I'm totally in love. Funky colors, super soft and stretchy, what's not to love!? The nursing clips work perfectly, and the Tank has cute little bows on them which is super cute!! They both have inner-shelf / built-in bras, but personally I like my milk monsters to feel super duper supported, so I wear these with a bra on (which you really can't see, so it's a non-issue in my book). The two-layered-look tank on the left has a kind of pleated baggy front which will highlight your beautiful baby bump but is also great for hiding any postpartum muffin top you might be sporting. Not saying I have a muffin top... not saying I don't... but it's a nice feature, as is the fact that you can wear the straps straight or criss-crossed on the back! The red "super mom super tired" tank set said "hand wash only" and I was like ohhhh heck no... I don't do "hand wash"! Ain't nobody got time for that! But before throwing caution to the wind and tossing it in the laundry basket I decided to do a quick test to make sure it wouldn't bleed. But it did. BIG TIME. I rinsed it out in the cold water for a good 5 minutes and the water kept turning pink. So, yeah, they're serious about the hand wash thing but it's such a cute shirt, I'll just deal with it. Though I'll be extra careful to not get spit-up or other wash-necessitating things on it! (The leopard pants and the black/pink tank on the other hand did fine in the wash, phew!) OK, now that we can agree that You! Lingerie has some awesome stuff, are you ready for some awesome news?? The grand prize winner of my "Get Your Sleep On Giveaway" will receive a Maternity & Nursing Chemise from You! Lingerie's Sprinkles Collection (pictured below). The winner can choose size and color. Head on over to the giveaway (running February 15-25, 2016) to enter to win this and $300 worth of awesome sleep-related products for babies, toddlers, and mamas!! Disclaimer: Although I did receive this product free of charge, all thoughts and opinions are my own and completely unbiased.

Sometimes a stroller isn't allowed or appropriate. Sometimes you want the freedom (and cuddles) that babywearing provides. Lucky for us there are TONS of babywearing options out there, from wraps to slings to mei tais and soft structured carriers (SSC's). But what about tandem babywearing, i.e. wearing two babies at once? We just got our hands on a carrier that, in my opinion, blows all other tandem wearing options out of the window. I give you, the TwinGo!! The TwinGo carrier is a 2-in-1 SSC that works together or apart. This means, for example, mom and dad can each wear one baby, or one caregiver can wear one child on the front and one on the back! What makes the TwinGo really stand apart from its competitors is that you can remove one set of shoulder straps when wearing the front and back configuration, cutting out a lot of unneeded bulk! On our maiden voyage with the TwinGo, my husband and I each wore one of our twins in the front carry position... for 6 hours straight (only breaking for boob and diaper time)!! At almost 4 months, they're weighing in at about 14 pounds a piece and by the end of the day we were relieved to take them off but in no way, shape, or form would I say it was painful for anyone. The TwinGo shoulder and waist straps are well padded and designed in a way to distribute the weight extremely well, and the carrier holds the baby from knee to knee, which is ergonomic for their hips and spine. Some features that really stand out to me as exceptionally awesome include:
Here's a quick demo of how the carrier unfolds out of its own pocket. This was my first time and you can see how genuinely impressed I was, haha!! The TwinGo can accommodate a total of 70 pounds in tandem mode, or up to 45 pounds in single carrier mode. Because you cannot wear a child in the back carry configuration until they are at least 4 months old and have good head neck control (and many babywearers would suggest waiting til they can sit independently), our babies are not quite ready for this mode!! But, I have a feeling I will be rocking that setup a LOT!! We haven't worn our toddler in over a year, so I don't think wearing him in this carrier will be something we start doing now (it's a different case if you start when they're little and your body strengthens as they grow), but just to test it out I threw him on in the back and one of the babies in the front. It actually wasn't that bad!! As I mentioned above, the TwinGo is well padded and designed to distribute weight across your hips. So in a pickle (like if we were out and my toddler just couldn't possibly walk any more, I could totally make this happen! Looking at the photo below, I'm horrified to see that I didn't have my baby situated in there correctly - she was a bit askew with one leg not pulled out all the way. BUT, this is a great time to mention there is an extra safety strap that buckles in place for the child in the "attachment" carrier when tandem wearing (the safety strap is built into the shoulder straps for the "base" carrier and also the "attachment" carrier when wearing it solo). So, god forbid I actually went on my merry way without realizing my baby wasn't seated correctly, the safety strap should keep her from slipping out the side... So YAY for safety measures, and a good reminder that practicing at home with a spotter is key, as is always triple checking every time that everyone is in there safely before you take off! TwinGo's instructions include great visuals and flagged safety checks to confirm that you have it on correctly, and don't miss their "how to" demo for the dual carry! Stay tuned for my review of tandem babywearing our twins in the TwinGo, coming in a month or two! In the meantime, you can check out TwinGo and if you like, buy it on their site or on Amazon (for about $215). Shoes. Let's face it, they make or break the outfit, am I right? When we're talking kids' shoes, you want them to be stylish, functional, comfortable, and durable (to pass down to their siblings), and a company whose shoes encompass all of those great qualities is pediped.
Tis the season and pediped has a great assortment of shoes for holiday parties & photos, and gift giving. From dress shoes to waterproof snow boots and even cute socks and tights, Pediped has gotcha covered!!
But don't take my word for it - pediped has been named Best Footwear in the 2015 Earnie Awards presented by Earnshaw’s Magazine (winning this award 6 times in the past 9 years)! They've also been awarded the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance for the promotion of healthy foot development.
Styles vary in design and features, such as machine washable capability, water-safe technology, Memory Foam Technology™, Ultra Light Technology™, eco-friendly material, slip resistant sole, self-cleaning sole, and temperature ratings! Love it!!
Here are my girls modeling their new pediped Originals Natasha Black dress shoes. With a simple velcro strap they're super easy to get on and off, and feature genuine leather upper and all leather sole (which is nicely padded). But let's face it, we love 'em cuz they're stinkin' cute!!! They're size 0-6 months but as you can see are way too big for the twins this holiday season. Maybe they'll fit by Valentine's Day?
Here's my son in his new pediped Grip 'n' Go Max Navy shoes - I guess Christmas came early, who knew a kid could be so excited about shoes?! He loves them cuz they're "cool" and I love them because they're lightweight, cute, have a flexible rubber sole and breathable mesh lining, and are water safe! That light reflective strip on the toe is pretty smart, too!
GIVEAWAY TIME!!!
Enter in the Rafflecopter box below for a chance to win a pair of pediped Originals shoes - winner choses the size (0-24 months) and gender. Open to US and Canada residents ages 18 and over. Giveaway ends at 11:59PM EST Tuesday, December 29.
