While there is no immediate cause for panic or mass quarantine regarding COVID-19 in South Brooklyn, we do believe practicing hand washing and social distancing to be of the utmost importance, to protect your family and the community. We will share important updates via our FB page, and you can get updates from NYC by text by messaging "COVID" to 692-692. We will continue providing our weekly kids' events roundups, but urge you to think carefully whether or not to hold or attend any indoor or outdoor group gatherings. Slowing the spread and flattening the curve of how many individuals need intensive care in the hospitals is the biggest concern here (see more on that here) - the more we limit close contact with others, the harder it is for the virus to spread (and it can be spread before symptoms are present, and by those who have it but are still going about their daily lives thinking it's just a simple cold, as is quite likely with children and otherwise healthy adults).
