Some moms stay in shape throughout their pregnancy, never missing a beat, going full on with prenatal and postpartum pilates, yoga, swimming, you name it! Some take even better care of themselves than before being pregnant! And then there are moms like me who let it all go, LOL. Between the extreme nausea of the first trimester to the exhaustion of the third and fourth (and fifth and sixth...) trimesters, I found myself not eating well and not working out. I gained 27 pounds, ok, that's in the "healthy range", and thankfully the baby weight flew off, (yay for breastfeeding!!). And I do a LOT of walking, but I wouldn't call myself in shape. My butt has disappeared, for one. I've started daily lunges, but we are far from the perky bum I used to take for granted. Pity party for 1, please!
