We love music and dancing in my house, we've got something on pretty much all day long whether we're throwing down with a mini dance party or just have something playing in the background. I'm more of a Britney Spears and Bruno Mars kinda gal, but we try to keep it fresh with a variety of tunes via Pandora or YouTube. It can be hard to find "kid friendly" music that's as fun for the parents as the kids, but we recently attended a kids' concert and album launch for Joanie Leeds & the Nightlights, and man, they rocked out!!! ![]() Joanie's latest album, her EIGHTH, is especially near and dear to my heart because all of the songs are focused on BROOKLYN! You can listen to them here, but she covers everything from eating pizza and rainbow bagels to riding the subway and ferry (speaking of, NYC Ferry is launching from Bay Ridge in just a few weeks - how PSYCHED are we!?!?!?!). She's got an amazing voice, her lyrics are catchy and sometimes hilarious (ummm... there's a song called "Hipster in the Making" to give you an idea LMAO!!!) You can buy her Brooklyn Baby!
