Parenting WIN: Fitted Tot Baby & Toddler Clothes Rental

10/21/2016

Subscription & rental boxes are all the rage these days and it seems there is one for everything! Pley for toys, Preggonista & Bella Gravida for Maternity, Stitch Fix for men's & women's clothing, and now clothes for the wee ones with Fitted Tot!!
Picture

Here's how Fitted Tot works:
  1. You sign up and let them know the size (3 months - 5T), gender, season/warmth needed, and any style preferences.
  2. Your box arrives, filled with 3 play outfits, 1 premium outfit or dress, and 1 pair of pajamas (per child). The clothes are freshly washed (with Dreft Stage 2 laundry detergent) and folded - ready to wear!
  3. When you're finished with those clothes, send them back, no need to wash! The prepaid shipping envelope is included in the box and shipping both ways is included in the subscription fee. As soon as they receive your clothes, your next box will be on the way.
  4. If you fall in love with any items, you can keep them at 50% off manufacturer's suggested retail value - simply don't return that item with the rest of the clothes and it'll be added to your next bill.
  5. You get one box at a time, but unlimited boxes per month!

So now you're thinking, "OMG this is AMAZING!!!! But... how much does it cost???" Right? Well, it's not cheap, but it's totally doable for most families, and would make a really really cool gift for new parents, a child's birthday, holidays, etc!! Here's the breakdown:
  • 1 child subscription: $44.99 / month
  • 2 children subscription: $59.99 / month
  • 3 children subscription: $69.99 / month
For once, there's a deal for families of 2 or more kids!! The price per kid really drops, which is awesome! This mother of 3 is loving that!

We recently tried out Fitted Tot for our 1 year old twin girls. It was both exhilarating and scary to have no idea what kind of clothes a perfect stranger will be sending. I tried to get my style across in the memo at sign up: "I prefer bolder colors to pastels, logo tees as opposed to cutesy babyish prints". Would they "get me"??

When the box came, it was like Christmas morning! OHHHhhhh the excitement!! The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was the amazing smell. I recognized this smell from when I receive shipments from the Twins Resell groups I am addicted to on Facebook. The glorious yummy scent of Dreft!! We use unscented Seventh Generation laundry detergent for our whole family, so having beautifully scented clothes is like, wow, what a treat HAHA!!!

Everything was folded nicely and upon inspection everything looked brand new, all were Children's Place brand. I'm not sure how many kids the average piece goes through, but it seems they must meticulously inspect each returned piece and toss out anything with a stain or showing wear. Going through piece by piece was so fun, we opted for just 1 set of clothing and there was only 1 shirt that I wasn't in total love with. Score! They DID get me!!

The best part is you don't have to wait til you can wash everything like you do when you buy something new - it's all ready to wear when you receive it! So, my girls were in new outfits moments after opening the new box. Boom!

The trouble is deciding which pieces to keep or send back... Seriously. A true dilemma!!!
You can find out more about Fitted Tot, and sign up, on their website. And, get this, you can win a free month subscription in my 12-prize $480 value Winter is Coming jackpot going on now through November 3!!!!

It is absolutely normal for parents to get very anxious about their baby's sex. Some favor for a girl while others hope it's a boy this time. Nowadays, there are many ways for guessing baby gender. Of course, the most accurate and highly advised of which are medical processes like the ultrasound which can be perfromed after the 20th week of your pregnancy.

1940's Women's fashion was a time of great restrictions on design, fabric, and trim materials. The war forced clothing designs to be simple yet it also forced manufactures to be creative with what they could use and invent new materials. The 1940's brought about new women's fashion inventions many of which are still around today.

The best sewing machine is a matter of debate in many sewing machine reviews, and one that is not likely to be settled any time soon. Some machines excel at quilting, while others are designed specifically to provide the requirements for a professional serger. Still other machines are intended to be used for embroidery or crafts. For this reason, there probably is not a single machine that can be considered the best sewing machine, not matter what sewing machine reviews you may find.

Buying vintage clothing is becoming ever popular and more mainstream by the day. And we don't all live in uber cool cities with bags of vintage shops to choose from. So most of us, through choice or not, are looking to buy vintage clothing online. So lets embrace this, put our feet up, make a cuppa and take a look at what vintage clothing the world wide web has to offer.
